Lanse as long as you have had that B, you still don't have a manual ? You are going to embarass yourself and harm a really good tractor. There are MANY little things to overlook, changes by model year, changes at certain serial numbers. I've worked on things for 45 years and I to know everything but still use repair manuals.

Lanse you REALLY need a shop manual for that tractor before you reassemble anything. Where are you getting your torque specs? There are so many small details that you willl never catch them all untill its too late. Then you will destroy that motor and have wasted all this time and money... That being said and knowing you will just go ahead and work on it., there are timing marks on the face of each oh the timing gears. ALL of those marks must be aligned with its corresponding gear and mark. (manual has a great picture) The pressure plate only goes on one way. Do you mean the clutch disc? the center of the splined hub that is longer goes out (towards the rear of the tractor) Did you torque the flywheel bolts? Did you install the packing in the end of the crankshaft? These WILL come back and bite you unless they are done. I wish you good luck and do not mean to sound like I am running you down , Just don't want you to be REALLY disapointed when you have to do it over when it wont start, knocks or leaks or etc...

packing is in the crankshaft (i looked over all the seals and figgured out where they go before i started), and i have a manuel, its just kind of incomplete. It shows where things go but without torque or anytihng. I got torque from someone on the allis board, and have been using a grade 5 bolt chart for everytihng else but the crankshaft bolts and rod journal bols (80lbs and 40)

I don't know anything about the specific tractor that you have been working on, but MOST, if not all the engines that I have worked on, and that is not a lot, will have a mark on the camshaft gear and a mark on the crankshaft gear. Just line up the marks. As for the pressure plate, some will be stamped "flywheel side" or otherwise marked, like a paper sticker stating which side goes against the flywheel. Hope this helps.
