Some shots of the cattle at the end of summer. I have a limosin bull and angus x females.

We had 2 falls of 4-5 inches of rain this year so things greened up nicely. However coming into winter cattle lose a lot of weight, no pastures are cut and stored here. Just dont get enough to do that. Feed supplements all winter, usually coconut or cottonseed meals and soy meal from the US (cause it is cheapest!).

Please keep those pictures coming.
Nice cattle, do you sell calves, or feed them?

Young calves are sold off mother as vealers (butcher trade) if season allows or as stores (to fatten)if it is dry. The older steers in pics were bought as 200-230kg stores last year and sold this year as feeder steers to feedlots. Try and only run females and few heifers to keep over winter.

Regards

Mitch
