Yesterday I bush hogged some ditch banks and knocked down some privet in a tree line for a couple of hours to get the oil hot enough to change, and changed it,and added $35 worth of fresh gasoline.Today at about 5:30 after doing other chores in town I got back on the tractor to mow the 5 or 6 acres in front of the house that really didn't need it yet,a mix of weeds. The well worn '62 Ford 2000 ran like a watch pulling the 5' bush hog along the terraces and up and down the hills. The weather was a perfect 75 degrees with a soft breeze,I even got to use the lights, which actually worked without diddling this time.It caused me to forget the worlds troubles and mine for a few hours by just listening to the little tractor work.

I know exactly what you mean... Rob (my wife) and I fired up the two lawn tractors and mowed a neighbor's lawn because her's was tall and ours wasn't ready to cut. There's something satisfying about whacking down tall grass and leaving a level carpet behind.
Nancy, I do my riding in the morning before work, so I get the horse therapy when I REALLY need it- before traffic time!

A little different, but when I would come home from work frazzed, I would saddle my steady eddy horse and go for a ride. It always worked wonders. She's retired now, and my younger ones are not seasoned enough to take for a ride where I don't have to be on my toes.

James and I always enjoy a tractor ride in the evenings at the farm. We pick a tractor, crank it up and toodle around the farm just checkin' things out. Very relaxing.

I sure know that feeling. Something just plain relaxing about driving a tractor.

Yep, nothing like it; just spend a few 7-days-a-week 14-16 hour days for weeks on end; you'll be so relaxed you can't stand up straight. :)
