Recently I ordered a starter solenoid for my father-in-laws yanmar from YT and it was the wrong one when we recieved it we ordered it for a YM2200 and the tractor was listed as a match in the ad. YT will not take it back and suggested selling it on e-bay but how do you sell someting knowing that it doesn"t fit your model tractor. Disappointed that they will not take the part back. Any one else have similar problems. Thanks

If this solinoid is The ordinary Auto configuration it can be used. They all look the same on the outside but are internally different. All have two bat cable sized studs and one or two small 10x32 threaded studs. The single one you will run voltage to it or ground it to activate the plunger inside to complete the the circuit between the heavy posts of the battery cables. The ones that have two small posts is a insulated winding which you can send voltage to one and ground the other small post or ground thru the starter.Take your ohmmeter to figure out how it is hooked up inside.CENTAUR

I've bought from YT a few times and never had any problems. YT does not accept returns on electrical parts, that is probably why they don't take back your starter solinoid, you might have ordered the wrong one.

We double checked the right part was ordered according to there sight, but will not fit the tractor and they say they get the part from someone else and that their supplier would charge them a 35% restocking fee.

See if you can find a parts manual or the part number online. If it is YT's mistake or their supplier because they listed it wrong I would insist on my money back. They should eat the restock cost if it's their mistake. And if you paid for it with a credit card, you may be able to file a claim with your credit card company.
