On Saturday I paid $188/with tax for 5 yards of aggregate gravel delivered, (driveway type). I spread this out over a hard packed limestone drive. The last I remember I paid $170 3 years ago for the same type of material from an independent trucking comp. This past weekend I bought it from a landscaping company, retail/wholesale type place. I priced the limestone gravel and it was $246 for 5 yds. Anybody bought gravel recently--if you did what is the price in your area.

About a month ago I bought 200 tons and paid $5 a ton for crushed limestone and hauled it myself.

We have a linestone quarry about 12 air mi. away, it's about 17 mi. by road 20 ton cost me $235 .00 last summer, delivered and tail gated. That wasn't enough so I ordered another 20 ton. Oh yeah that highlift operator was really good !! exactly 20 ton both loads??? not a pound differance! HA!HA! Don't know now tho, since fuel jumped. JIm H. SWPA

about $18 a ton at the quarry (Luck Stone).... "findings" ( like stone dust, but a bit coarser) was free at Vulcan until recently, and made great base material, gate entrances and round pen material- guess they decided to call it "stone dust" and charge for it now. It was a smokin' deal prior to that, and might still be available at some of your local quarries- but you have to ask for it, it sure ain't advertised.

Rock is cheap- the trucking kills ya. Thank God for the dump trailer!

we sell gravel by the ton, it verries by size but 3/4 is 10,00 a ton, AT the pit, picked up in a trailer or commercial body vehicle, we will not load pickup trucks with factory bodys,6 to 8 inch rip rap rock is 13 a ton,our hauling verries by how far it goes but a average 50 mile round trip costs about 120,00 now, i remember when it was 40 bucks just about 12 years ago, it goes up from there some runs are up around 170 miles a trip

where are you? and what kind of operation do you have? we operate a mid size crusher and mine the raw material on site, the dang fuel and operating permits plus insurance is the big cost, when we crush we have 2,500 hp diesel engines on the crusher itself,[ one is a genset] 2 dozers, 3 frontend loaders, 1 excavator and 2 haul trucks running all at the same time, plus the crew to operate all that stuff, to produce the material,6 diferent products at once. MSHA declares us as a open pit mine so all regs have to be met there as well plus permits and insurance, then theres the road trucks..

I just got 2 loads of 1 inches crushed rock a couple weeks ago. Around 15-17 tons each load and the 2 cost $360, but I get a special deal on what I get because the same guy hauls creek rock for me so he makes money and I make money.

We just paid 289.00 for 17 tons or washed limestone delivered to our home. Most places wanted 19.00 a ton. We need about 10 more ton out here.
