Im part of a student group restoring a 29 John Deere D for the Nebraska Test Lab museum. A rebuilt splitdorf magneto was donated a few weeks ago but it will only spark on the left cylinder. All of the brushes look new along with the points. What could the problem be. When we turn it over theres a good snap and spark on the left cylinder, on the right theres a little click and at the points a very faint spark once in a while. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Took it all apart, put it back together works like a charm. Thanks for the help.

Are you mounting it and getting no spark or is it on the work bench? If it is on the tractor I would double check for binding on the coupler? Just a long shot here. The next thing could it be a bad bushing / bearing?

Did you try swaping the wires and plugs to make sure that isn't the problem?

You said a click on the weak spark side, I think you should make sure the impulse is catching a tripping.
