I just hooked up a 3 point scoop. Here's my question: When I pick up the scoop the bucket is angled down a little, and when the scoop is on the ground the bottom is flat on the ground. Do I need to adjust the top link, (I cant shorten it anymore) I may need to get a new one.

The angle of the lifted implement as it goes up and down will change according to which hole on the tractor the top link is attached to. My NAA Ford has 3 holes. I don't remember which hole it is but one them will make the implement tilt forward as it rises and the other will make it tilt backward. My 2N had only one hole and I put the adjusting holes on the forks I made so that the pallet of wood I was moving would tilt towards the tractor as it rose up.

put it on backwards so that you drive in reverse to whatever your picking up, if your scoop has that ability. Then go longer

It is on backwards. I think the top link needs to be adjusted inward more, I need to make or buy another top link with less stroke.

It may be that when you start to pull into it, it will have just enough drag to tip it on play in linkage to get the right angle of penetration.

Can you change the pivot point of the center link? Usually the 3pt hitch is designed to angle upward when it is raised.
