I am looking to buy a quality fertilizer spreader to pull behind a lawn and garden tractor. And the tractor part makes it a suitable related topic. Right? Hopefully I can find something with 125 to 200 lb. capaacity, enclosed gear box, stainless steel spinner, and similar quality features. Can anybody tell me where to look? Anyone have a good idea what something like this should cost? I have tried to do a google type search and come up empty. I don't post much but read alot. And you guys and gals are walking encyclopedias. The ones I have bought and used in the past have plastic flow controls and they don't last long and I question their spreading rate accuracy. In my operation I spread pesticides and fertilizer with it so some reasonable degree of spreading rate is desired. Thanks in advance for all of your help!!

Check out the golf equipment places. They have the quality of equipment you are looking for, but they also come with a price tag to match. I googled "golf course turf equipment" and came up with a bunch of good hits.

Gravely used to sell a nice small one for their walk behinds. I think it was about 5' wide I had one years ago and wish I could find one again. I rebuilt the hitch to pull with the Cub and it worked good. You could meter it pretty good. I think something like that would work with your L&G tractor. Oh-ya that was a drop spreader.

Southern States here has something like that. Has tires bout the size of back lawn mower tires, poly hopper, seems pretty solid. Never used one but did look at them last fall, seems like they were about $700. I was wanting it for use with a four wheeler to sow grass and clover seed. I went with one that goes on the back rack for about $250.
