A typical morning. I"m half asleep. Walked in the door at work just after 5:30, flipped on the lights in my office and things started shaking. I thought the building was blowing up for a second.

EARTHQUAKE!!!!! !!!!! !!!

I"m hearing early reports that it was cenetered west of Vinncens(sp) Indiana and on over into Illinois. Shook us good way down here in Kentucky, so you guys north of here must have had quite a jolt.

Felt it here in Millersburg, IN at about 5:40. I never felt an earthquake before. That was all the kids at school talked about.

4:14 CST by my bedroom clock. The quake woke me up just south of Nashville - shook the whole house.

I felt it this morning too. I was about dozed off and the bed was shaking and windows rattling. Thought it was the wind or tornado till I realized the bed was moving too.

Thought there was another trembler at 1015 this morning too. I was out in the shop and the drill press and the overhead door were shaking. Don"t know if its in my head but I seen the drill press shake with my own eyes and I was not near it.

Pretty cool till things start falling down.

We had a noticeable one here in '02, about 6:45 a.m. I was exhausted from a long day and night, got up, was real groggy, was on the net and the monitor started shaking, so I grab it to make it stop and am like wtf ? I had a few dust collector beer logo type pint glasses on a bookshelf, they were going to fall, had to go rescue those, the monitor was shaking again, house made a boom/snap noise. I noticed a crack over a door on one end of the house, it settled, 3 doors were now out of align, a lolly column directly below must have settled, not a real old house, was completed in '78, well built on concrete footings and foundation. Nice chunk of a chimney fell off too, part of a corner.

Seems it definitely helped find any weak spots or places it had not settled.

Was the same time of year too, April. I ended up running outside for a reality check, still groggy, early morning gray clouds, grass starting to green up, was kind of surreal at first, glad it was not any stronger. Still have to jack up that column and straighten those doors out, never thought we'd have one that strong here.

Myself i can't say one way or other as i was dead to the world . Is this the for runner to the BIG one that the gloom and doomer say that is going to hit the middle of the country???? I have only felt one around here back in 80 or 81 can not remember , that was when i had one of then fancy office jobs and it was not that big of one maybe a 4 something but in that rickity old building i thought the world was coming to and end couple of old bricks fell out of the walls in a couple places and made lots of dust from the mortor between the bricks , scared the office girls real bad . The one young girl that was in the upstairs office was cryen she did not want to go back to her office if there was going to be more of this shake rattle and roll . That one was centered about 40-50 miles north from the office . Told the boss it was all his fault as we had just started operating the injection well and pumping salt water from the oil and gas wells down the hole .
