What do you get a person who has everything for his 60th birthday?

A bag to put it in. I'm semi-serious. That's what my sister gave me one time. The card said "For the man who has everything, something to put it in". And it was accompanied by a brand new burlap bag. Everyone thought that was pretty funny. That's all she gave me, too. That seemed to make it even funnier. Of course, in your Case, Case Lady, you could put a bottle of something he's especially fond of in it. You know, after shave cologne or ah....

Just don't mention age. I'm 63 now thinking a lot younger,My old body says no when I say go I don,t consider 63 as being old,but as the speed we are going through life, so I guess it's time to slow down and enjoy life.Just sitting on the back porch with my loved ones reminiscing of the good times would make a great birthday.Knowing how the family feels about your acompishments, and you about theirs, is a great feeling not to be forgotten.

We never have enough time with the ones that mean the most to us. After reading the posts, I agree most with the ones that say spend the day with him doing the things he wants and likes to do and of course, tell him how much he means to you. Neither of you will ever forget the specialness of the day.

Give him a birthday party with his friends and family. My grandmother turned 95 in December. My dad and his two half brothers threw her a party at a local smorgasboard, she was like a 5 year old at this party she had a permanant smile glued to her face like I have never seen before. I asked why it was so special, about made me cry when she said "first brithday party I have had in 95 years" I guess back then parties are not that important. Good luck, tell him Happy Birthday.

Remember: The Way To A Man"s Heart Is Through His Stomach. Make him a special dinner or something like that. My wife always manages to find a tool I could use, too.

Hey, I'm 60 and I'm not an old codger. Okay, maybe my 16-year-old daughter might think so. You're only as old as you think and act.

I agree. Tell him "I love you" and take him to dinner or a movie.

Larry

Give him a dinner or breakfast with a letter from you--telling him what he has meant to you.You do not have to spend alot of money to touch his heart. My daughter gave me a poem she wrote to me maybe 10 years ago.Still have it.She also bought me expensive gifts since then.Have no memory of what they were.

I agree with the post-- The hug and I love you! Even if he already 'knows this' How much more special to take his hand, look him straight in his eyes, tell him how very special he is to you, how if he hadn't been the GREAT father he was to you, you would not be the person you are today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your father from Tyler, Tx./ Ed & Rena

A great big birthday party with lots of relatives and friends. I gave my wife a 60s birthday party and she sat there and cried when I ask what was wrong she said: "This is my very first birthday party."

Spend a day with him. Visit with him. Go out to breakfast if that's his thing. Drive around the community, stopping at Fleet Farm, Menards, Home Depot, tractor dealerships, etc. If he still lives in the community he grew up in, possibly go visit some of the schools he attended as a child or his high school.

Depending on your relationship with him, you must know some places he'd like going to. In our town, there's a nice museum and the National Railroad Museum....

The two of you will think of something.

Maybe a bluebird house?
Maybe a new collar for the dog?
Very good question.
