I am restoring a John Deere 2510 powershift. What kinda paint should I spray on it? John Deere want a fortune for their paint, Is there any other nicer paint to spray on it?

Thanks

John Deere paint is a lot cheaper than automotive paint and in the long run a lot cheaper than that TSC or farm store paint when it
turns blue in a few years.

I sprayed this one 11 years ago. The lite is wrong but it still shines like it did 11 years ago. John Deere green with NAPA hardner and several coats

I recently finished restoring a 36 JD B and used a single stage enamel urethane paint and it came out awsome! The urethane in the enamel makes it stay shinny and stands up for years. Also used the epoxy primer suggested for the enamel urethane paint, Dave

How much time and money do you have in the tractor already? Is the 5-$10 savings worth the chance of getting an incorrect shade paint now that may turn blue with age years later?

Well, waaaaa aaay to much time and money into this thing. I thought I could have it finished for $8 grand, but after the engine rebuild, and transmission rebuilt, im not finished with it at $11 Grand. Makes me sick.

You might break even. A 2510 Powershift? Not too many of those around.

yea, thats why i bought it. The 2510 is the only ten seris tractors every equiped with the powershift transmission. the 4010, 3010, 2010, 5010 all Had synco transmissions. I also have a 68 4020 powershift waiting to be restored.

Someone make me understand why someone will sink $11000 into a tractor's internals but can't find another $200-$400 to buy good paint which is what everybody including himself will see for years to come????? ?????
