I BELEIVE I HAVE A JOHN DEERE 2020 4 CYL GAS TRACTOR. I RECENTLY CHNAGED THE OIL AND SAW ANTIFREEZE IN THE OIL. I SPOKE TO A TRACTOR FRIEND AND HE SAID IT WAS TWO RUBBER GASKETS INBETWEEN THE TOP AND THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE. IF I HAVE TO TAKE THE WHOLE ENGINE APART TO FIX THE O RING GASKETS I WANT TO JUST REBUILT THE ENGINE. PROBLEM I DONT KNOW THE TRACTOR SERIAL NUMBER.
THE ENGINE BLOCK HAS A CAST NUMBER OF T18277T
WHAT REBUILD KIT TO I NEED.

Perhaps not a 2020? in reply to WANT TO BE A FARMER, 04-11-2008 07:50:26
I think you've got your numbers screwed up. A T18277T is the casting # on a final drive on a Deere 1010 crawler. Now, if your casting number is a T16277T - that is the block number for a 1010 gas engine - NOT a 2020. If that is your actual number, you need four new o-rings, a new sleeve-deck gasket, and a new head gasket - and the engine has to come all apart.
