Here are some pics from the Bridgeport sale - it was really pretty part of the time, a little windy part of the time, and a little stormy part of the time. Typical April, I guess.

A friend of mine fought through snow today just south of there to get his last tractor home.

Not sure why everyone kept calling this junk - there were some real quality pieces. Plus, plenty of good, old, complete rebuilders, as well as parts for anything you could imagine.

Anyway, it was a lot of fun seeing it all and meeting so many folks!

This was the small field - you can't see all of it:

This was the larger field (there was also a third field I didn't get a landscape pic of - chock full of mainly running tractors):

My friend, Jim H., also got snapped in the front page picture of the Scottsbluff newspaper in the auction crowd!

INJDGREEN: Why do you say Aumann's wouldn't have gotten the same prices? Did you go to the Schrock auction last summer, or hear about the prices there? Very high, in my opinion.

Well, WOW! What else can you say? On one side wish we could have gone just to see the stuff. On the other hand, if we had, we probably would have drained our bank accounts.

Really nice pix - thanks!

That corner will never be the same to me. I go past there 2 or 3 times a year on my way from Montana to Kansas. I had even stopped in a few times over the years and found a couple of parts I needed. Gary and his right-hand man Gilbert were always helpful and were likely to tell me, just go find what you need and come back here to settle up. I pretty much knew where the older Case stuff was.

You bet!

Gilbert and Jerry are top notch; always helpful when trying to dig the parts out of their "inventory". :>)

Thought that outfit pulled that off pretty darned slick by the way that they got the "collectors" and junk dealers to come in, clean it all up and actually bid against one another while doing it.

Now, that is some feat!

Too bad Gary wasn't here to watch his money multiply by thousands. :>)

Great pictures. I don’t think people understand how great this auction (show) was. There were no fees for parking, loading, going to the restroom, breathing, or buying parts from Detwilers. Food was very reasonable. The ONLY fees we paid were for the 500 page catalog and a golf cart for 4 days. We needed the cart because there was so much to cover. People that did not want a catalog, did not want to bid and they should have to pay that $10, it was crowded enough in the tents on Friday when the Deeres sold. My family and two other groups of people we were with bought 5 semi loads. I had one of them loaded Friday night within minutes after those particular tractors sold and the semi was on the road before the auctioning ended THAT night. I think that is efficient. Did I mention there were no FEES to LOAD!!!!! !!!!

I came into this auction without opinion about Kruse. I sure did leave with a good one. For everybody that complains please explain how Kruse hurt you and what fees are all of you TALKING ABOUT????? ????? ? Also what junk is everybody talking about? Half of our tractors are running, all they needed was fuel and a good cleaning.

It looks like all the blowhards and nitwits that were "going to show KRUSE a thing or two", by boycotting the sale, didn't make any difference at all.
You can always figure that the more someone yaps, the less capable he is of carrying through his plans.
99 percent of these tough talking 'farmers' would have been there taking up space, reminincing about how Uncle Snot, used to farm 943 square yards with nothing more than 3 ostriches, and a goat, or couldn't have afforded the catalog, much less make a purchase.

I figure Kruse got done what he wanted to do,get the whiners to stay home and get BUYERS to the sale.Amazing how much BS about the sale before hand that was absolutely false.Glad the sale went well.

UNBELIEVALBE ! How did they ever accumulate so many tractors ? They must of been millionaires. If you left any of those setting out here in Ohio within a few years what wasn't stolen off of them would of been rusted to pieces.

Gary's was a salvage yard basically, bought/traded old tractors and equipment and anything else. Probably 95% of the stuff in his yard (close to 300 acres) was junk and had been cannibleized. He did have a private collection of some neat stuff that brought some big dollars. He was a pretty fair guy to deal with, if noone else had a part odds were he did and wouldn't bend you over a barrel to let it go. As for rusting, our average humidity here is probably less than 15% in the winter and not much over that in the summer so rust on outside stored items is pretty minimal.

Hi Howard. Good to see your using your Nikon D80. Who actually owns all these tractors and how long did it take to collect them? Were there any David Browns there? It still looks cold enough too.

Regards

Mitch

Good guess, Mitch!! ha!

What did you decide between the D80 and D300??

You need to be posting us some Australia pictures! :)

A fellow named Gary Phillips in NE gathered them up. There were some David Brown's, for sure. About the only thing I didn't see was a GP Massey Harris 4 wheel drive or a UDLX Minnie.

The picture with all the deeres lined up looks like a picture of Las Vegas Boulevard- only with tractors instead of palms!!!

That is ridiculous.
