well i think i'm gonna cultivate this year. i have a John Deere 4 row front mount cultivator off my 4010 and i just bought a 3 point john deere cultivator..i think it's a 4 row halfta look again OK here's my plan...i have a JD 60 with a narrow front on it and was planning on setting the wheels up for the 4 row front mount cultivator. and set up the cultivators for narrow rows since they are both at wide. and put the 3pt culti. on the 4010 my question: will a front mount cultivator for a 4010 fit a john deere 60? what adaptations do i have to make if i have to make any? i know i need to take the lift part off the rockshafts of the 4010. do i have to do anything else besides the brackets and set the wheels in? thanks a lot

The top piece of the QuicTach will need to be changed. The front of the 4010 slopes forward while the 60 is straight up. The piece you currently have should have a bit of a bow to it. The piece for the 60 should be roughly straight.

The above assumes an older style cultivator that is not wide front compatible.

If your gonna cultivate, pray for rain. I beleive it cultivating also, but it sure did dry out my sweet corn soil last two years.

You don't want rain with a front mount, narrow front cultivator! Been there, done that, think the soil is still compacted from pulling it out years ago... ;) Never push the clutch in when you start spinning, hit the gas & hope you make it through the wet spots.

Not to much rain tho or the loose dirt will wash away.
