I can order a new set of blades from a after market company for my Woods Mower for around 50.00 a set, they pay shipping, and the blades are delivered to my door step, and I pay no taxes. If I order from woods dealer I pay about 30.00 more a set, pay taxes, and drive 25 miles. Why can't the dealer at least have the same price for a set of blades? Stan

Hey Stan. I'd have to look up whom they were made by, but got a new set last year for my L59. Cost me $58 from a local mower place. The guy looked up a Woods L59 then asked me right or left rotation. Took a day or two to get them shipped to him, I picked them up. He caught me off guard when he asked right or left rotation, and since he was about to close when I ordered them, I guessed...wrong. He sent them back, took a couple of days to get the correct ones. Now, he can't help me with the hog blade, so it'll be the Deere guy on that one. They're reasonable.

The company is Flail Master 1-800-251-4020 or go to Flaim Master on the web. My mower is a 6 ft, and they had the blades. Give them your model no. they should be able to help you. stan

Had a Woods once that needed a set of blades. Went to a local guy and got the EXACT same blade as the Woods blade, same numbers stamped on them and everything, 40 bucks less. Bought several different blades from the same guy for several different mowers, most if not all were OEM blades for alot less than the dealers. Thats what I dont understand!

My RM59-1 woods blades lasted 7 years and next woods blades lasted 7 years. Next set were aftermarket and lasted 9 years. The set one there now are aftermarket and 4 years old and still good. This all on the same lawn. I think they are sold by ProFit.

I would be very interested in the web site or telephone number of the after market company. I have a Woods RM660 that eats about three sets of blades per year at about $75 each. Need to find a beter price for these blades.

Thanks

I bought after market blades for my Sunflower mower because there aren't any dealers left. Been using them for several years now with no problems. They seem to be as good as any blade I installed from the factory on the woods mowers at work. the hold a good edge and will easily take down a 3 in. sapling and make splinters of it. Don't remember where I got them from and I lost my Favorites when i redid my computer. BUMMER They were in Texas and real nice people to talk to.

Don"t assume that they are of the same quality. I"ll take OEM anyday. They have a reputation to protect. I personally have seen aftermarket transmision gears strip off just like shelling corn off a cob. There ia a difference in the materials and the way things are tempered. mEl

Might not be the same quality steel. The Woods blades could be make in the US, the aftermarket could be imported. Many don't investigate alternate sources and Woods is able to extract a fee for this convenience. Another middleman; ie, the dealer is also making some profit so he can stay in business to provide you a source of parts you can't buy after market.
