Went into the feedroom this morning and on the wall is a calendar featuring topless cowBOYS, apparently given away by the local tack shop who have correctly identified their primary customer as women.
Made me feel degraded, and suddenly I was accutely aware of my body image. Daughters thought it was a hoot.
Questions:
1. SHould i take it down?
2. Should i make my sone take down his Snap-On calendars in the garage?
3. SHould I start going to the gym?
4. Why is my wife now so consumed with documenting everything on this calendar?

Nancy, I may need your input on this...

While I feel that displaying people as objects is in poor judgement, we must use discresion and pick our battle wisely. I am informed that Snap on hasn"t used calendars that depict women in years. The last years that I worked in a civilian shop, we recieved calendars with reconditioned cars displayed each month. It has always been my experience that the end result of fighting fire with fire is a really big fire. I would not suggest that you respond in kind. If your family are practicing Christians, you can articulate that the same scriptures that require you to refrain from such displays, should constrain them to do like wise, and yes you should expect the same from the males of your home.

I don"t worry about having a 6-pack because I"ve got a whole case. I guess the horse business is a woman thing now. Maybe my mule is underpriviliged. He has to eat whatever the cows get.

Remember while she is drooling over the picture of the half naked cowboy when she turns around the only person standing there will be you. Take advantage of the situation.

They don't even know what a cow looks like.

Heard there is a new sequel to BrokeBack Mountain about a pair of women trappers, it's called the "Fur Traders".

YOU take the Snap-On calander out of the garage and hang it OVER the one in the feed room. Problem solved.

That comes from worrying about paying, and paying for most of the things that everybody uses.

Well, dont feel threatened tell her there is probably a chance they are homosexuals (not to be mean but it could be very true) since a high percentage of male models are.

You didn't get that perfect 6 pack abs from working on the farm already?, well, it didn't work for me either. Going to the gym is a fine idea, might add years onto your life and change it for the better. Answers to questions:
1) no, because they enjoy it.
2) no, because he enjoys his calendars
3) absolutly, its obvious you already have a poor self image, and that should be improved. I'd reccomend TaeKwonDo.
4) its a fun way for her to keep organized.

Hope this helps,

Take it down? Nah, women have had to endure years of this. My poor wife has had to look at pictures of all the Massey 65 pics on this site hanging all over my garage. I just needed a carrot to keep me going.

Take down sons? Nah.

Go to the gym? Sure, do it for your health and your own confidence.

Now, if they showed these fellas BOTTOMLESS, then there is reason for some of us (ahem) to feel inadequate...

Wait til your daughter sees how them pretty boys work, and she will marry a fella just like dad. Just be sure not to hate him too much...

Course this is coming from a guy that has never had this happen to him, daughter is 5.

Good Luck,

Aaron

Just let her have her fantasy and ride the coattails of that, you might even tell her to keep her eyes closed and call you cowboy tonight. LOL.
