Working on a 450 Diesel Farmall that has near new rear tires and rims but PO used it to blade some and put about 10 sharp bends in the outer lip of the rims. Any ways to get these back into shape? Some are bent in about an inch toward the center. Thanks

Torch, hammer, and some time. Heat it, hammer, repeat as needed. You'll be suprised how easy it is to straighten them, but take your time.

I/m curious as to why using it to "blade some" would put bends in the rear rims? What the heck are you blading? A rock pile?

They were blading animal pens that have sharp cement curbs and dividers and trying to get as close as possible. The rims are the outermost edge of the tractor and they hit the sharp edges and it puts small indentations in the outer lip of the rim. I will try some of the suggestions and post back. Thanks

I agree with Allen. You are probably put tubless on it anyway, so just pry them back in shape. Do it all the time with mine.

Hey Ol Pard,

Ya probably don't wanna know how I'd handle that. :>)

I'd jack 'er up, let the air out, use a bead breaker to bust that outside bead loose, then go to work with a pipewrench and a cheater bar.

Pull those dings right back outta there.

Allan

I try to heat them up a little first and then I find a piece of metal (hardwood might work too) that is the shape of the curve of the rim, then I lay the piece over the bend/lip and hit my template to push the rim back to where its supposed to be. Can work the opposite way too. . . (if you have another piece that curves the other way). This way you are not hitting the metal of the rim directly with your beater and not distorting it any more than it already is.

Lots of heat Rose But best for this and a big hammer If you have an anvil it will help but any large piece of iron will do. It ain't easy but can be done with care and patience. Have a strong helper you will need him.
