Since the guys been arraigned, has resigned and I'm hearing from several other of his victims,I guess I can tell you about the ultimate crime wave. A few weeks ago,my banker came to the door. The wife invited him in. He took his shoes off and sat down at the kitchen table, started making small talk. After about five minutes,he asked if he could use the bathroom. Well, fine and dandy, except that there is a gas station a mile away,so if that was the reason for stopping, why not just go there. He came out, said he'd better get going, put his shoes on and left. Two days later, the guy was arrested for stealing prescription drugs from somebodys house! He was here to steel from me! Ain't that just the ultimate?! There are some people,in certain positions in the community that you just wouldn't be suspicious of if they walked out with the drugs in their hand! Geez, they could tell you they were taking the bottle in to have it refilled for ya and you'd believe them. What can you even say?

I live in MI too but in my neck of the woods unless the "banker" has an appt. to come to my house (highly unlikely) he doesn't set a foot inside , especially when the wife is home alone!!! Wake up America!!

The stealing of the prescription drugs is most likely the signs of someone with an addiction to drugs. Probably pain killers. As an admitted alcoholic I know the lengths an addicted person will go to in order to feed their habit. Hopefully the banker will get treatment and begin the recovery process. It is unfortunately a disease for which there is no cure, only remission.

There's a guy making the rounds around here- knocks on the door of homes without cars in driveway- if anyone answers, he explains that he is looking for his black German Shepard dog, that strayed in that area last night. If no answer, goes in the house and steals only prescription drugs- doesn't disturb anything else. We're kind of a redneck area- these guys aren't often brought to conventional justice, but the incidents seem to stop after awhile, and the guy is never seen again. "Court in the street", I suspect.

out here, we had a catholic priest, pastor of the local church, leading a secret TRIPLE life:
Ordained priest, father of 3 in next county over, and father of even more over in Philipines.
Embezzled piles from the church to buy real estate, cars for families, etc. Or...the recently hired University President bust TWO DAYS IN A ROW for DWI...rolled univeristy car 1 county up, then was followed by police driving on 3 wheels 2 miles home while DWI the following day- when termed for being an absolute damn disgrace, the guy demanded severance!!!

If we're polite, the district magistrate usually throws the book at them.

A co-worker a couple of years ago got busted and fired for that exact same thing. She was taking prescription drugs from friends/acquaintances homes...

Pretty good looking young girl - never would have guessed just by casual observation...

Last year, My wife of 29 years passed away while in an adult foster home. 2 days later, my sister in law (who lives 2000 miles away) came in and picked up every thing she wanted. The caregiver stopped her at the TV and otherlarge items. In this case, it was a family problem.

Well, I know the situation you're talking about, and the subject you're talking about. Have known and loved his parents for more than 30 years. They are the finest people you would ever care to know - same for his wife. Absolutely wonderful person. I was shocked to say the least when this one hit the headlines. Would have never thought he'd be involved in this type of behavior. Amazing what drugs can cause a person to do once they're hooked on them.

That's just it Ray. We thought the world of the guy too. We were glad to see him when he showed up. Just a super nice guy. Everybody around here is having trouble grasping this whole thing. It's not like he was some sleezy sneeky pain in tha @ss. He always helped me out when I needed it. The wife, the kids, could all go in to his office and he'd help them out one way or another. Heart breaking is what it is.

yeah that's why if anyone strange comes around, i stand at the door and watch them with a wepon in hand...just in case they "wonder" around. if they just go to the barn or shed i shoot in the air to let them know where i am and that i have a deadly wepon in hand. a while back, a couple kids came to my house with a bolt cutters and some gas cans. they cut the lock on my gas barrel and helped themselves...until i fired off my 12 gauge into the air. buy they ran like mad! they didn't make off with anything but i got 2 free gas cans and a brand new bolt cutters!
oh and i always have a knife in my pocket anyways for farm reasons too.

A while back, we had a doctor who would make house calls. Everyone thought that was great until someone figured out that he was stealing antiques from people's houses. Little things like salt and pepper shakers, old watches, antique jewlery. Scott mentioned the Sheriff. Well, we had a sheriff who didn't pay his taxes. So, who's going to conduct the sheriff's sale? To make it even funnier, he was an auctioneer to boot. He sold a lot of property for back taxes, but not his.

I know of a sherif like that. Old friend of mine's dad shot his fool self in the leg a few years ago. Called 911 before he passed out. Came too for a little while, sherif was in the house going through his brief case, he had sold a skidder the day before and had $4000 cash in there. Passed out, came too again and they were packing him out of the house on a stretcher. EMTs left the sherif at the house when they took him to the hospital. His daughter got to the house half an hour later, total ramsacked, pain killers, gun, cash, all gone. No one saw nothing.

People are the same every where you go.

Dave

Well, there's a crock and there's a crook. I don't know which you meant, but in this particular case, you're correct no matter how you spell it.

Honestly, the Banker is the one I would be most suspicious of. Then perhaps the insurence guy, the undertaker, anyone on the county board and perhaps the sheriff.

At the time of my Fathers death,in nursing home, he had a beautiful treasured fob watch. Was not among posessions handed to Family. After the jumping up and down, it mysteriously appeared.marvellous,
The list is endless.
