Well in the past 24-48 hours we have picked up at least 5 inches of the wet stuff and it looks like it will not be stopping for at least 24 more hours. Most of my driveway has about 6 inches of water on it and it has no place to go because every thing is soaked.

Last year the Southeast was supposedly in a severe drought, and the lakes supplying the drinking water supply were practically empty, now when it rains a few times, all we are hearing is not only how they wish the rain would stop, but that the rain was accompanyied by high winds and hail. FWIW, it is too bad that the CNN Center was not completely destroyed.

Looks like it's headed this way, good to get a heads up via posts like these, looks like a soaker, frost is almost out of the ground, mud season is upon us, but not as soggy as it can be, this storm ought to make things a mess, maybe it will break the frost so the water will perc down instead of making mud on top, always have this every year sometimes a week or 2 of muck. Funny, back in January, we had a warm and dry spell, frost came out of the ground and it was dry mud season came and went already, back for round 2 !

Last year was a wet spring like this is turning into. The previous 2 years were droughts. I'll take the moisture and put off my hayin till later in the year. At least I will have ground moisture to grow a crop which didn't happen during the drought. Also, the replacement fish I just bought won't be buzzard bait either like they were in the drought.

Oh so now I know who to blame for my creek being bank to bank today. I live by the dry glaze creek which starts down your way and I can see the water from my front porch.

Here in North Central Ohio we are VERY wet too. More rain on the way.I have to drive an extra 10 miles a day around the flooded roads to work. I sure wish I could give those of you in drought areas some.

Old!!!

For us poor, drought-ridden West Texicans - that's like asking a crowd of starving lumberjacks if they'd like any fried chicken with some cherry pie!!

I was digging under a piece of equipment the other day and the soil was as powdery dry as it can get - just like sugar out of the bag...

I'd take some of it Rich,if it would melt the snow and take the frost out. We got ice pellets last night. They've revised the forcast and say it won't get as warm as they had predicted. Calves should start hitting the ground in a week or two. I'd sure like to see the ground warmer.

We are in our 5th year of drought, got 3 inches snow last night, but nowhere near enough, send me some and I'll send you beer and cheese. If you dont like beer I'll send cheese we've got plenty of that.

Old If you can figure out a way to get it to West Texas we can sure use it. We haven"t had any moisture to speak of all winter long. It is dry as can be here.

Maybe you could lay out a pipe line and pipe it down your way. Right now the creek by my place is running so high I can see the water when I stand on my porch, its about 500 yards from my house
