I have a Lucas injector pump on my JD 2140 tractor, and it is dripping fuel and i can't figure out why, its dripping from around the lines that go to the injectors but i've put new metal washers on top and bottom on the line where it goes in the pump but it still drips, and the other place is at the hydraulic automatic speed advance big screw. if anybody can help me get this dripping stopped please write back.

Have the parts guy check the part number on those washers, and then have him check to see if they're the same part number as the washers used on a Roosa-Master pump, such as on a early 4020, 4230, ect. If so, go to your nearest IH dealer and pick up the sealing washers they use on Roosa-Masters, such as on a 656. IH used a washer with a steel outer ring and a teflon inner ring. I've fixed more than one leaking Deere by installing the IH washers. Those IH washers are pretty expensive though, about $3 apiece.

Just make sure the correct banjo bolts and washers are used. If the bolt screws in to far it can destroy the pump. Dont ask me how I know. They looked perfect but was just a HAIR to long. BTW, they was the same part # as the ones that I took out.

Fuel is a very hard thing to find leaking. One problem could be that the lines where you are putting the new washers on are not flat. Just take a flat fine file to flatten them if so. every bolt, screw, and lever in that pump has a seal, you have to be really sure where the fuel is coming from or it can drive you crazy. If your sure it is coming from the lines where you say, pull them off, make sure thier flat and have no cracks. make sure the surfaces on the pump doesn"t have any burrs. If you still can"t find it, find yourself a mechanic to look at it. Some mechanics like to work on the side for cash (cheap).

You're going to have to look closely and figure out exactly where the fuel is coming from. Some of the Lucas rotary pumps use banjo-washers at the pump - just like the Stanadyne/Roosamaster pumps. In rare circumstances, I've seen a banjo fitting that had a scratch on it - and the steel washers would not seal. Often, using brass washers instead would fix the leak. As to the leak around the advance trimmer - it's just o-rings.

Am leaking line can be from a minuscule crack in the end of the line. Hardly visible, but if your fingernail snags on the spot, replace the line.

Not sure but isn't the Lucas the same as the old Simms pump? If it is there is no washers at the connections. Good luck
