I am new here. I am now the owner of a Original 1949 IH C "white" in color tractor. This tractor was my fathers. He bought it new in 1950. It runs and works well....but it is showing her age. Although she has always been kept under roof she has some aged issues that I wish to resolve.
As best I know these "White" Farmalls were a rare tractor. The White color was used on demostartors which were often painted red prior to sale? Mine is original and still white. I know little of the details of my tratcor but I have done alot of work on it over the years to help my father keep it running. If I understand correctly the serial number is located on the tool box under the seat on the righthand side. My plate is worn abit but I can make out the numbers. The first numbers appear to be engraved in a nice looking font. 52055 and under it is what appears to be "stamped" numbers 1815. I am in need of alot of advice and general knowledge of servicing and repairing my tractor to keep it in "original running condition " as best I can. I am not interested at this point to do a restore of the tractor. My father was against the retstore of this tractor given its status and its orginal condition. I need knowledge and manuals, and parts to service my tractor. I need to replace the clutch and mostlikely the brakes. The wiring is failing, as it is original aswell. Any help would be welcome.
Thanks,
49whiteC

Wow,
This is kewl..... .....looks like you guys know your tractors!
I know nothing of mine..but I hope to learn. I wish I would have put some interest into knowing what my father knew of his tractor. I wrenched on it plenty ,never really knowing what I was doing and why but I did what he asked me to do. Thanks,

Your serial number puts the tractor to be a 1950. The 50 model started at serial number 47010.

The 52055 could be the serial number. If so, it would be a 1950 Farmall C and it would be in the right serial number range to be an authentic White C Demonstrator from the 1950 White Demonstrator Program.

1815 is engine speed.

There are often claims that a tractor is a "white demonstrator" and some are, some aren't. But if you have the right serial number and the white tractor in it's original white paint, it sure sounds authentic.

BTW, if it was me, I would keep the original paint as long as I could. Pretty red paint jobs are a dime a dozen. Nice original tractors are getting hard to find.
