I have located a 1965 C60 Chevy truck that I need to make an offer. It has a grain box but no hoist or PTO. Heater core leaks. Faded paint with surface rust.

It will need to be painted if I want it to meet Allan IN NE's specs. (If I haul it, will I also have to chain it down?) LOL

Any guesses as to a fair price?

Please pass on that truck and look for a different one. What good is a grain box with no pto or hoist ? At best it is a parts machine. My beater trucks, 1967 C50 chevy was $1700 and the 1950ish 2 ton IHC L something was $800. Both have box and hoists and run great, although the IHC was built for speed not comfort. Around here all real hauling is done with semi's retired from active duty. Althought the tandem axel trucks from the late 70's up with 20 + feet boxes still bring serious money.

I sold my 1979 C-70 with a 366 4+2 in about the condition you're describing and I got $1000 for it. Mine did have good rubber on all 6 wheels.

You might want to check on insurance, some company's won't insure trucks that old.

If you don`t reach a agreement on the C60 I have a 1976 C65 with a factory box and good hoist. It a cab over with a 366 engine that does`t have more than 10,000 miles on a magor overhaul. The truck has been stored inside, has good paint on both cab and box
