lookd at a running B today, has 7-17-J on the transmission side tells me its a 1940, but on the eng it has 1-24-B tells me its a 56, heres some more info to help you guys , no starter or starter system so probly a 40 with a newer eng? on eng behind oil filter 354898 R3 right of that is C123 or i think thats what it was, it has a oil dipstick check below the oil filter & left of it. also has the normal checks on the other side of oil pan, so what is the eng off ? my guess super c or a power unit eng ? hand cranks right up on second crank & dont even smoke i think its well worth the 700 askn price but just wondering about the eng #s & it dont have the right seat to get a seral # also there were these #s on castings if helps 6830DB & a 6340D

The block part number 354898 R3 is from a Farmall 100 or 200. That doesn't necessarily mean it's C-123. It could have 3" bore, 3-1/8" bore or 3-1/4" bore, those 3 sizes are all available for that block.

Change the bell housing and flywheel then ya gots a starter. Later blocks had a dipstick. Is there a cutout on the block by the filter that makes them a power unit as thats where the starter goes on a power unit most of the time and probably a plate on the block below 2 and 3 sparkplugs for a fuelpump thats another thing on a power unit anyway would be a good engine for power. Tractor would part out for that much easy.
