Well, we're very close to setting 100 year snowfall records. What's wore, Al Gore is wrong - WRONG.

MN is still a few days short of normal winter in regard to below zero temps. We"ve just had too many open winters lately- this is not even average yet.

hay is getting short around here too.
i think it will be worse next year, we hear more hay will be tore up for more corn and beans. i hope spring gets here soon i have very little hay of my own left and have bought everything up neighbor had for sale. i am concerned about pasture we had a lot of snow and ice in dec and got another bunch of ice with pile of snow on top of the ice. if the pasture is dead my cows will have to go i can't afford to buy hay all summer.

We weren't QUITE that cold across the lake here in Michigan. Pretty nippy out there right now. Looks nice with the sunshine, but the windchill is nothing to write home to mother about.I know what you mean about the hay. Tried to get some out to the road yesterday to load on the trailer. Got 5 bales out and stuck the tractor. Had to take those 5 home with the truck, unhook the spreader from the big tractor,go up and pull it out. Ran a bunch of snow down with that one and sat the bales out while I still had it there. Worked all afternoon getting 2 and a half loads. Another day of wasted time and fuel. BUT HEY WAIT,maybe all the fossil fuel I burned up will cause GLOBAL WARMING and we'll all be OK yet!

HEY AL !!! Where the heck is all your global warming ? Last year Cleveland airport had an all time recorded record snow fall amount. So far this year may be a chance to break it. This new storm is to dump 12" on us this weekend. The bottom grounds and flood plains are pretty full up too ! Anyone need some water ?

Started snowing after 8 am today...here at 1 pm, we've got 2-1/2 to 3 inches already, and the forecasters say we won't get the worst of the snow until later tonight.

Never enjoyed snow much, even as a kid. Old house I grew up in was drafty enough to begin with, and then add 3 kids dragging in snow with them...didn't make many pleasant memories.

Earlier this weeks, streams and creeks were getting fuller, and the ground is still saturated...can't wait to see what happens when this stuff melts.

 3:30 PM Update in reply to Buzzman72, 03-07-2008 09:55:31
We're now at 4 inches of snow, according to my yardstick...wind is picking up and rate of snowfall is tapering off, but the weather guessers say that's just temporary.

Windchill was -39 here in Manitoba this morning. But we haven't had 12 inches of snow all winter. I was ice fishing last Saturday on 44 to 45 inches of ice.
