This really sounds too good to be true. Does this ad show up on anyone elses local Craigslist?

This is thier standard reply to the ads. Yep, they are scams all the way.

Hello,

Tractor is available ,it s in excellent conditions absolutely no issue.Price is 4400$ delivery from Oklahoma included.Location shouldn t be a problem as i am using monebookers services so i can sell the tractor easily. It is curently stored at their warehouse in Oklahoma. All i need from you in case you decide and want to buy is the delivery address.
As soon as I receive your info, I will forward it to MoneyBookers, they will start the transaction and notify you with all the instructions (payment, shipping, my account status etc.) One of their agents will be assigned to handle the payment. You will have a 14-day return policy, so you will have the chance to test and inspect the machine and decide either you keep it or not. If you decide to keep it, they have the power of attorney so they will transfer the title into your name and release me the funds, if not they will be responsible for the return shipping and you will have a complete refund within 3 days.
Anyway, they will explain you detailed the entire process
Looking forward for your reply,

Need to check with Fereal Law people - a posting awhile back noted $5000.00 minimum fraud amount to get federals involved as a 'major' felony. If they avoid Post Office- as in send Western Union- they dodge postal fraud charges. Wi had some people fall for a 'adopt a prize pup for $400.00 shipping and kennel fee'- they found out the $500.00 minimum to consider felony meant local police or county sherrif only ones who would take complaint and it wouldn't get across state line enforcement unless fedrals took it as some kind of organized crime scam. Nobody arrested- but if scammer gets caught for something in WI and is identified he'll have to pay extra $500.00 bond for misdemeanor fraud charge to get out- don't count on catching scammer. RN.

Yeah they do that on the lists here too. One was an MX240 for $4900. Mostly priced at $4500-4900. I emailed the guy just for fun, he claimed to be in England, had just moved, tractor had to be left behind and he had to sell it quickly and wanted it goine cheap to avoid the taxes, all I had to do was send him a money order bla bla bla.

I've seen that on my local craig's list and also the same thing for a Kubota. It's always $4400. I think I've even seen them on here, but not as often.

Yes, this add showed up on our Anchorage Alaska site. I believe it is connected to a virus. I am running a system scan now. Beware!

2003 John Deere 5220

It had 4 pictures and looked almost new. They wanted $4400 for it.

The Nigerians must be at it again.

This is what the ad said:

This package is in EXCELLENT shape. I took very good care of my equipment. Unit comes with loader, bucket, forks and Hydraulic angle rear blade. Cab has AC/HEAT/RADIO. The pictures say it all!!!

Someone already has it flagged for removal so I didn't get to see it but I bet I have seen it on my local CL before. Did it have pictures of it? Did it appear they were taken near a do it yourself car wash? If so, that's the one I've seen too many times before.

Lots of scammers on CL. If it sounds to good to be true...

Just for fun, send them an email telling them your interested in the tractor. The response you will get is so ridiculous that you will wonder why anyone would ever fall for such a thing, but they do.

They are all clogging up our classified listings here too. Its pretty darned annoying when 50% of the listings are fake.
