I am in the process of installing a detroit 3-71 engine in a Case 500 tractor. We are having trouble figuring out how to mate the tractor trans drive components i.e clutch, pressure plate assy, to the input shafts of the trans.Does anyone have any plans or know how to do this as it was done many times to repower Case tractors.Your help is very appreciated. STEVE21757.

That 3-71 will start & run much better with "N" series sleeves/pistons. And "C" series injectors. Don't grind the valves or seats. It sinks them and lowers compression.Install new. I think there is a valve spring and cam follower spring upgrade on the 71 series too.
