would it take to pull a tandem 10 ft. disc? I would want the tractor to be pre 1958. I was thinking that an 88 or a Super 77 would do, but I know thats the lowest in power I'd want to go. Otherwise, I was thinking a Super 88. What do you guys think would be the best choice? Thanks

88 & super 77 have about the same HP. I'd choose the super 77. Super 77 is a little more nimble , and better on fuel. In a tractor of that era , the super 77 is a better all around tractor. The 88 may be a little heavier.

You need WEIGHT to pull a disk that wide. A 77 would sit there and spin. All the horsepower in the world will not amount to anything without weight.

I say the 88 with full ballast in the rear.

Aw come on guys,I don't think he's talking about an offset disc here. We used to pull an 8 foot with a 66.

The Super 77 would handle it. The Super 88 would too,and not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with the early Super 88s,they were a good tractor, but if you can find an "improved" Super 88,1957-58,then you'll have one heck of a tractor. One of Olivers best, hands down going away.

Depends alot on your soil type.In MOST cases,an 88/Super 88 should handle it.

Might be a little too much for a Super 77.

We farmed with 77 and 88s, and you might be able to pull the disk with a S-77, but if you add a drag or set of spring tooth harrows, you will want the S-88. BTDT

I always pulled a 12 footer with my 77. Had super pistons in it, but handled it fine.
