I am looking at purchasing a Ford 540A diesel tractor. It was a former State tractor. I know the basics but thats it. Any info would be very helpful. Can anyone tell me the difference between the industrial vs. Ag models? I plan on using this tractor for light farming; is there anything I should be concerned about, weight ect.. ?

The main difference is the front axle assembly..Farm tractors have cast steel adjustable width axles..The industrial tractor has a fixed width fabricated axle..Usually wider tires are found on Industrial..And if I'm not mistaken , the axle clearance to ground is less than farm axle..
