OT anyone have / like dislike the chev colorado ?

We have a 01 S10 with 60+ miles on it & starting to need things fixed so time to update but... Ok looking at the 07 colorado 4x4 crew cab with a 3.7 liter 5cyl eng & automatic pickup is loaded with leather & all goodies..(could do with out but thats how it is) now i hear alot of people dont like the new colorado & lots others do Whats your oppinion ? & not one of go buy a ford or dodge instead cause that will never happen in my life time (even if i won a ford or dodge first thing id do is sell it)
its a $25000 dollar pickup but i buy rebuilders & can have this one bought & running for less than $14000 saving $11000 then going to local car screw lots i never bought a new truck or car n my life always get rebuilders saves lots of money & i never have problems like most people fear of salvage title to me it dont mean S@#t but to some people O' my god its got a salvage title.. anyway

I used to be closed minded and owned nothing but Chevy's. Used to have to constantly be fixing them too. I finally got more open minded and looked around more when I bought my 1996 Dodge Ram ext. cab. I almost bought a brand new Ford but found this Dodge used. At that time nobody had more cab room than the Dodge and that was what I needed at that time so I bought it. Well it has 176,000 miles on it and has been the least trouble of any truck I've owned so far. If I was going to get a small truck Toyota would be my first look. Do yourself a BIG favor and look at other brands. As like you said your 01 Chevy with only 60,000 mi. is falling apart. That has been my experience with them also.

I have driven several of these in the course of my work. My personal preference leans toward full-size pickups, but the Colorado is a good choice for a small truck. I've probably put close to 20K miles on various models of the Colorado and Canyon with no problems. I've always driven the five cylinder version with either the five-speed or automatic trans. I don't care for the crew cab version as the bed is too small to be useful and you can't see the back of the bed from the front seat.

Do not buy one of these without remote door locks! There is no key lock on the passenger's side and you will go nuts walking around to the driver's side everytime you want to unlock the passenger door.

ya i gotta agree with ya id rather be in my full size duramax any day of week over the S10, but this is a extra vehicle to do intown trips, & maybe short get aways like a car to most people, ill keep that remote in mind but im sure the one im lookn at probly has it as its a top line one leather with everything ya i noticed that small bed with the crew cab but again ill never use it ill just pull the duramax outta the shed when needed to haul

This question, about like which is better a red tractor or a green tractor, is just going to draw a lot of reaction that isn't worth too much. Kinda goes with the territiory.

Only 60k on yours? My brother in law has 240k on his, 2nd engine, but thing keeps going. 5-speed in it, sure sips fuel.

Don't see many of the new S10's around, didn't even remember what they were called. With the ranger going out of production, looks like no one wants a small truck any more.

Kinda like my Dakota.

Think there are so few Colorado's out there yet, that hard to get an answer!

i agree with ya on the "only" 60 on my S but while im ahead .. no money in it & its still worth 5000 even with salvage title, time to trade up ill have a 07 & only owe 9500 yet once sell the S.... WOW a 07 & only 8000 miles on it worth 24000, ok 19000 with salv title but will be money ahead in the end & have a new truck for 9500 & even if i dont like it i can sell it for 18-19 & go find another builder & dont say im wrong, as i do this all the time i buy builders & fix & sell but this just happens to be one for myself as a extra driver

I'm Pretty sure they make more than one kind of truck because everyone likes different things, to each their own, but with that being said I had a company truck a 1-Ton dodge 230k on it till some nice old man pulled out in front of me :( my company replaced it with a ford 1-ton and I am amazed--that they manage to sell as many as they do! Oh by the way my friend has a colorado and he likes it fine. !!!!! :)

ya i know what u mean i also have a 01 duramax i got wrecked in 01 thats the best pulling pickup iv had in yrs, had a few fords & never did like them, was thinkin of the dodge but got that duramax saved a lot on that one too, anyway just was thinkn of the update for the s10 daily driver & wanted some input on that colorado as i dont know much about em

I have an 06 4x4 crew cab for my work truck. It replaced a 2001 s-10 extended cab. I really like it, so much better than the s-10. build is so much better, it has the 5 cyl. More power than the 4.3 V-6, runs very smooth. Turns a lot shorter cyrcle than the old xtended cab. Intrior is made so much better. Mine has the auto power everything, but no leather.
