Not too far away either. Followed your adventures with the last grain truck, time to start another one. This one's a side dump, no less.

Years ago Dad traded a 36 Ford truck for a chain saw. Guy put a side dump on it and sent his wife to elevator with a load of wheat. Box tripped on bridge and dumped whole load in Grand river.

The first side dump I saw was when I was hauling wheat around Sterling Colorado.

First thought that came through my mind was "boy, I'd like to get one of these to my elevator at home in Iowa". I can guarantee that when it starts tipping sideways the guys will go a runnin. Jim

Wonder how many millions of those old Tempte boxes were built? At one time, out in this country anyway, there seemed to be 2 or 3 of 'em in every yard.

And every blessed one of 'em came out of Denver. :>)

However, can ya give me a minute? I'd sure like to finish up my old combine first. Weatherman says we'll get up outta the freezin' temps soon. :>)

When I was a kid all the trucks in Idaho, that were used on the farm were side dumps, hay haulers in the summer sugar beets in the fall, most were without hydralics they used 2 big cables and hooks off of a derick to lift the beds.
