is not easy. Today I was feeling good since I had just finished up water pump jobs on each of my two David Brown tractors. Went real good on the 1210 with no loader but was a real pain on the 1200 with a loader in the way, Had to take it down twice since the parts guy gave me the wrong gasket and it leaked like a sieve, Anyway, got them done and decided to work a while in my woodshop. 5 minutes into it and it happened. Took the whole end off my forefinger with a joiner/planer. It took 15 stitches to put it back. I have been stitched up several times from small shop accidents but never anything serious, I have been lucky I guess. Every little mishap like this gets my attention and I will follow my shop rules for a few years. I think this may be my final warning and I will never drop my guard again. REMEMBER----- It only takes one second to do real damage to yourself. LETS BE CAREFUL OUT THERE.

Don't feel bad I've had plenty of things like that happen to me. And yes we all should be more careful,(especially me) Anyway, when I've cut my fingers/hands etc I usually try to wear those thin Nitrile gloves over them to protect from germs/water etc.
Try them it might help you a bit.

Get well soon. I have a jointer/planer also and have been lucky. But I can tell you a cabide blade on a table saw is very unforiving. I was a Meat cutter for 8 years. Two local nurses learned to sew on my left hand.Stitches and I are not strangers. Glad your on the mend. Dick in Vermont.

Oh man, that must hurt! Took the tip most of the way off my pointer finger once. The doc sewed it back on and it worked, but I spent a few days with that hand up in the air. I wish you a speedy recovery. Jim

Got to get you some good push blocks! I've been working in my woodshop all day too. Luckly, all I did was knock over a can of water I had to rinse my glue brush.
