If someone knows how to extract and post pictures this would be great for the stuck and troubled section.Its supposedly about a russian tank captured by the germans that was then lost when it sunk into a peat bog .

I was under the impression that because of the fact it was under water and mud with no oxygen it wasn't able to rust? I guess if dirt was kept out of the important areas it could be made to run easily. The way the Russians build stuff it was probably crude as all get out and able to be repaired with a two rocks.

They used a Kamatsu D375A-2 to get it out. There's picures of it on one of the earlier postings. Hal

That dozer pulled it out like it was a bicycle! Wonder how much a D575A-3 Super Dozer would pull? It's even bigger and is the largest dozer that can be bought although the Acco in Italy is the largest ever made. No substitute for power! Pretty impressive! Dave

How cool is this? The tank was captured by the Germans and used for 6 weeks prior to being intentionally scuttled. It is a window into a darker time, but one we should not forget.

really amazing. i was suprised that the tracks turned free when they pulled it out of the water after all these years. then the post said after minor repairs they got the engine started!!!!! i gotta get one of those!!!!! !
