Who in the new tractor companies makes the highest quality compact tractor? And the most reliable/longevity.? (I am talking diesels) Deere Kubota Case/IH/NH Massey/Agco Cub cadet Kioti (no dealer anywhere close to me that I know of) I would not even think of buying a Jinma (chinese) or some off the wall brand. I am asking for educated opinions because I am likely going to buy a new one in the early spring, to be used for mowing, gravel grading, snow removal. 20-25 HP range, 1300-1500 lbs.

Bought my wife a JD 4010 about 2 1/2 years ago- 18.5 HP, Hydro, great little tractor. They'll do more work than you think- including loading dirt or gravel from a pile, no problem getting the bucket "overflowing" full. Paid $11,600 for it, on a dealer promo, 3 year financing with no interest.

I have a 1035 M-f 30-35 hp it's a little cold blooded but it never ceases to amaze me. Pulled my 20,000 lb truck out of a pretty deep ditch after I slide off the road in a snowstorm once. Loader bucket could have a little more capacity but it does what I need it to.

I would be happy to own any of the tractors you listed (except the Kioti). I ended up with a Deere because the dealer treated me the best. There is one feature on the Deere that I really like over the Kubota- the steering brakes are on the opposite side from the hydro pedals. It lets you ease into the hydro while still using the brakes. The Kubota has both on the same side, at least when I bought mine. Other than that, they're all good, I think.

My neighbor has a JD compact diesel that has been very reliable EXCEPT for the belly mower. He has has NOTHING but trouble from the mounting pins and springs, the just don't hold up. Maybe a three point finish mower would be better, but the mounting system seems pretty weak and a PITA to take off and on.

To give you a little experience with a Kubota I bought a 314 Allis Chalmers mower with NO engine and a new Kubota tractor w/loader couldn't lift it high enough to put it on my truck (500lbs max) They have earned their nick name Junkbota

I have a L3130 Kubota. They make the complete
tractor. I use it for running a brush hog and
plowing snow. So far it's been a great little
tractor. 2003 model. You can get the smaller
one's now with cabs on them. I guess if you do
all the maintance on them they are all pretty
good. Fred

"And the most reliable/longevity.? "

For this quality I have to say that nothing beats an old rebuilt model. My 8N is pushing 70 years of service. It has no bells and whistles to break down. It just keeps going. I often wonder in 70 years from now, how many of today's new tractors will still be running?

not to start any color wars here, but i have owned a JD 870 compact for over 10 years and it has been very reliable. it has a yanmar engine and parts are readily available at JD dealers and service at the dealers is good also. good maintenance is a must for any tractor. i have JD because that is the only tractor dealer close to me.

one of my buds has a landscaping business. they run kubotas and deeres. good dealer network, good parts availability. low maintenance costs. their equipment is run hard with many different operators and still going strong.

New Holland TZ25DA is perfact. Cost about $13,000 though. It is 4WD with Diff. Lock and has exelent traction on it. Ag tires dont mess with turf and it weights 1400 lbs. Is goes through anything and is VERY easy to drive. Is probabally the best tractor ive ever used and VERY manuverable. Goes about 10 MPH and is very stable. ITs a great machine.

check out the montana tractors. I know they use a mitsubishi motor and one series of their tractors has a john deere engine. Im not sure what size uses the deere without looking.
A couple brothers that farm pretty big here bought 2 of the 48-50 horse ones to use at the bins they have no electric at. They love them for the money
