cub touch control

I use my wife's grandfather's cub to plow snow. The touch control recently does not keep the plow up. It is as if the control lever moves by itself to lower the plow (power down not simply dropping). I can raise the plow by the lever but when I let go it drops again. Other than that the power and the smoothness of the travel is very good. Does this need a full rebuild?

I assume you mean the control lever actually moves by itself. There is a friction disk where the lever mounts to the bolt, that is supposed to hold the lever where you put it. Manual on line here
