I had a friend ask me a question I couldn't answer for certain, but new I could find out here. When did John Deere 1st offer a 3pt hitch as a factory option? I know you could order 50's, 60's, and 70's with the 801 hitch, but were those considered 3pt? How about on late model A's and B's?
Thanks for your help.

Back when I was running cattle, I had a headgate with about a 20 foot chute running up to it. Cattle would invariably try to turn around, and it was a real struggle to get them up to it. To make matters worse, the chute was a little too wide, so anything under 800 lbs. thought it could turn around and flee. An old guy told me to modify the run-up chute so it curved, and they couldn't see the headgate until they made the last "turn" and were within 10 feet of the headgate. It worked- they're so close to the headgate when they see it, they don't think they can turn around and avoid it, so they just try to go forward and jump through it. Where your alert assistant is Johnny-on-the-Spot with the lever, and catches them in mid-air.
