Broke the rt side final drive bracket where the steering arm attaches, moving snow. $500 part in my area. Any one know where I might find a used final drive housing or how easy this cast iron piece is to weld?
Any help appreciated, thanks. Chris

I would try to repair it before buying new. I would also add some extra weld material on the right side and fill in the 90 degree area.

I'd try fixing it. You may not even have to take it all apart ? Vee it out and weld it. Might be a real good spot to try the welding rod F-I-T (over at the JD board mainly)recommends called Muggy Welding Rod.

You could weld it or take it to a machine shop but I dont think it will hold from looking at the pics

Find a good welding shop and have them braze it. I have an 1145 deere that we broke and was welded twice but did not hold, last time took to another shop that knows metal and was brazed. Has lasted four years The last repair was made by a 92 year old man that works five ten hour days, he has been a welder for 75 plus years.
