Drive it first to see if the rear axle has a whine. Some had it most didn't.

We got a 02 explorer, has been ok , but there are lots of things that could and probably will cause big repair bills down the road, so far i have been able to do the repairs, but the parts were costly. All in all it has been ok but if i had to do it over again knowing what i know about them now i think i would pass.Ours is a 6 too highway mileage is ok but around town isn,t great.

Had three explorers and they all have been good vehicles. Highway mileage runs 20 to 22 MPG.
