i got my 730 diesel home last sat. now it seems i have a wheel bearing out. i have put about $ 1450 in the last 6 months on it. this is list of tractors and what i need to do to them. 730 diesel needs wheel bearings and paint massey 333 wheel bearing hi and low doesn't work
and needs paint cockshutt 50 needs ring gear on fly wheel won't start john deere a doesn't start i think it needs wiring harness maybe a starter too. i know paint doesn't make any difference in way tractor works ,but it makes them look better. as much as i like my old tractors right now i kinda sick of them.

Well look at it this way. With your old tractors you can fix them yourself with easy to get inexpensive parts. With one of those orange things you will pay a bunch up front and when the computer goes on the fritz your gonna have to pay a dealer big money to fix it. Then again that 730D would pay for a good share of a orange one. Lotsa poeple seem to want the green ones to fix.

It can be expensive sometimes, but I think they are still worth it! Believe me or not, I'm going to hit almost $5000 in getting my 1949 John Deere A restored, but I'm going to do it!!

If all you need is what's listed, you're getting off easy. Bet your wallet doesn't like the challenge so much. Keep motivated. Dave

I was out at the farm the other night working on my trailer after I got off work - there was a sale the next day I wanted to go to - it was super cold and super late and I was trying to line up some axle hangers to weld on.

I finally went to put the welding helmet on and it had covered over on the inside with a layer of frost! Nice and chilly to slip on and get back to work.

It occurred to me then - that if I worked that hard at my regular job, all my co-workers would think I was crazy!! ha...

I've heard it said the main difference between a serious hobby and a regular job is your attitude...

i need to have some warmer weather to tackle some of this stuff. right now my shop has lots of snow on it. if we would get some sun and warm weather maybe i could get tractor on hay mow floor but the ramp into barm has lots of ice and snow on it now and i wouldn't be to excited to try getting a tractor up it. thanks for the offer anyway.
