HELP! I bought a tractor on ebay and the seller said it was a MF 30 Industrial. It has a Perkins gas with a bore of 3.877 and a stroke of 4.5 inches. It appears to have diesel pistons with a cavity in them. I need to find an inframe kit for it as it smokes severely. What size engine do you think I have and how do I make sure of the model. There is no serial number that I can find. I could post a picture if it would help. Thank you!

Wellll...parts catalogs list a number of Perkins..
79 gasket catalog doesn't list MF30 Ind, just MF30 tractor with Perkins 4A/203 and 4A/203D engines;
2000 oil filter catalog also just shows MF30 tractor, with Perkins AG4.212 and 4.203 diesel (there are also MF30B.D,E,H listed);
2006 oil filter catalog shows three engines for MF30 tractor (or, three different oil filters): the two listed in the 2000 catalog, the third has no engine ID!!
Another filter catalog lists the MF30 Industrial, gas and diesel, but no engine ID!
Sounds like these came with several options; there's a Perkins engine site-can't recall it's name-with a lot of Perkins ID info, might turn up Googling Perkins engines. As I recall, ID'g the engine, AND getting the right parts looked quite complicated. Good luck.

Your MF30 with a 3 cylinder is not an MF30. It is a newer MF30B. The original MF30 was bigger than the MF40. When the "B" models came out the 30 was smaller than the 40. The original MF30 came with a Perkins AG4-212 gas engine or an AD4-203 diesel. The 4-212 engine is a shorter stroke version of the 4-236 engine. Both were available in gas or diesel. I'm not sure what, if any, parts are interchangable. I've ran an MF30 with the 4-212 gas engine and it was an excellent machine. Dave

The MF20 also came with the 3 cylinder. Dave
