You should first be able, with that top cover off , to use a bar and MAKE sure it will go into position and the detent while turning the pulley by hand so the gears mesh. Also a good idea to check and see if you are getting full engagement of the gears teeth to the matching gear as you can adjust this with the shifter shaft.

If all moves and looks good with the cover off place them in neutral and try putting that cover on again as the shift lever may of missed the slot. The high low shifter is really tricky to get in the right spot so watch it close.

Dukester is on the right track. When you put the trans in neutral the shift forks for 1st-rev & 2nd will "line up". That is the sockets for the ends of the gear shift lever will be in line. The groove in the shift fork for the overdrive shifter simply has to line up with the overdrive shifter lever. If the vasrious gears and shifters have been assembled properly that's about all there is to it. I assume the sliding gear shaft & gears have not been removed, so that is not an issue. If only the shifter shaft and shifters have been removed to repair the problem, start there. Maybe you have put one of them in backwards? If this isn't enough info to fix the problem I can email you some pictures that may help show you how it all goes together. Let me know. Good luck,
Paul

It would seem you're not getting the cover back on correctly and one of the shifting forks isn't engaging the sliding gear it's supposed to. What gears do shift in correctly? 3rd is 1st overdrive on your B...4th is 2nd overdrive...do you have 4th...do you have 1st, etc. to isolate which gear (1st or overdrive) isn't shifting and follow up to find the gear that isn't sliding and then figure out why.

the tras is 2 speed but with high and low makes it 4speed foward. I have fist gear and reveWhen I shift to sec the tras stick comes out of shifting fork and I cannot get it into any gear.
