Hi Bill,
I grew up around farmington, and compliment you on the great video.
I purchased a used 730 J.Deere in early 60's previously owned by Carl Stanley. Seen the one in video and am curious as to your grandfathers name. Thank's D. Zook

Bill,
I farmed with Dad and was also working at Keystone Steel & Wire, and when Dad passed away, we had a auction and all I can tell you is the 730 went to Chillicothe IL. area.
I would love to know the names of the people in the video, and curious as to your name. I am 67 yrs. old and thought i might know who you or your family is.

Thanks for the heads up on where it went to. Can you recall when the auction was? I am Eric Stanley, my friends call me bill, and my dad is Carl Stanley Jr.. My grandad retired from farming in 86 and passed away in 89. Dad and I both farm. Dad stopped in at the farm for a minute this morning and he remebered you living north west of town. He also told me that the man I bought my 70D off of a few years back was your brother. I will sit down sometime and write down some names and put them on here for the guys around here who might know them. bill

That IS the tractor you owned and that is my grandfather driving it. Bought it new from the Fairview Farmers Elevator on April 15 1960. It was serial number 7325119. Gas rowcrop no three point or fenders he had a 227 with a 50 sheller on it. He traded it for a new 806 diesel at Wright Equipment Co. here in farmington maybe about 64. Any chance you know where that 730 might have ended up? I have wondered many times if it could be found. A couple years ago I was able to buy the late "b" I remeber as a kid and I it would really make my dads day if I could find that 730. I accidently ran across the 45 my grandad bought new in 1962 and I took my dad to see it he talked about it for hours. It was in pretty bad shape but brought back alot of memories and I heard alot of stories about them farming with that combine I had never heard. If you have any idea what happened to it I would sure appreciate the information. Glad you like the video. Did you recognize many of those guys? There were a few I knew and with the help of my dad and some guys who were there that day we came up names for most of them. Its a great video with a lot of history. bill

Some of the guys we couldnt identify were on the DC's. If you didnt know Jess Bradshaw was the Case dealer in Cramer and he obviosly had alot of friends but some of those Case tractors must have been from a few miles away. So if you know who was on those DC's I wouldnt mind knowing. bill

Well those are two of the three guys on cases I know I was told that one of the others was Charlie Mannock. I havent yet had the chance to get either of them to sit down and watch it but they do remember that day well and should clear up a few questions I have. Thanks. bill
