Wife got me up early this morning saying we had no water. I went out the check what was wrong and found that some one left the well house door open. Pressure switch and pipes are froze. I hope the 2 electric heater I put in there this morning will be enough to get it warm enough to start working. Boy I hate cold weather. Oh well just venting some

No problem with water here. The well and all the pipes are in the house.
I love this "Global warming". Don't miss those weeks at a time of -50 for the high for the day. That was back around 1990. We hardly ever see -50 except for one or two nights a winter anymore.
You do learn to pay attention real quick when it gets really cold.

Old, several others have questioned who that "someone" was? Hummmmm . Guess it doesn't matter now that the milk is spilt. Hope you got it going. Going outside to relieve oneself could give you frostbite in places we dont want to discuss.

Reminessing a little. We use to have those Ritchie combination hog/cattle waterers and if we lost electricity for a day or so they would freeze up without external heat. I have seen my dad take a metal gallon can and fill it full of coals from the wood stove, drain the water in the hog waterers and set that can of coals inside of the hog waterers. The heat from these coals always kept it from freezing overnight.

Good to think about those memories, but dont miss the aggravation now.

I had the water flowing to the house by about 10am. I used 3 electric heaters to warm the place up. I still don't have water to the stock tanks but the weather man says it will be in the 40s in the next day or so

I know what you mean --- saying cold weather is not good --- I'm wondering why I don't just move South to SW --- like Arizona or some place just warmer --- maybe --- it's just that I don't like Real Hot Weather either -- I was paying a Visit to Hawaii a month ago --- now them folks got it nice year around -- but you pay for it there --- what's we to do ???

When we lived in the cabin, used to have to stick a lamp under the kitchen sink to keep the pipes from freezing inside when it got in the single digits. Course anytime below freezing had lamps in the well house & the crawl space on...

I helped a friend fix his Mobile Home on Monday. His attempt to use electric heaters to open the pipes up, melted the grey plastic pipe.

Problem was is heat tape did not work, I replaced that and insulated it real good. Then I fixed his "repair"

Love those new shark bite fittings.

-26F here in MN this morning. First time this year the cattle waterer valve froze. 1 teapot of boiling water did the trick!

I know what you mean, here it is -26 F and I am about to go set in a canvas shelter on the ice and fish, that is opposed to "catch" fish. Oh well, to cold to plow.
My son the plumber likes it, says the cold weather turns his pockets green! lol
Stay warm. Bob
