I am looking at a 1987 2-135 series III front wheel assist tractor which has a loader on it. Can anyone tell me the good and bad of the 2-135 and if the front wheel assist is good or bad. The tractor has 4800 hours and a new clutch.
Thanks, Mark

The Hercules engines are one of the most expensive engines to overhaul. Must be because there was not very many of them made compared to the Cummins and Perkins engines.

Otherwise a pretty solid tractor all around.

Real good honest workhorse. The Hercules engine takes a little fuel, but the tractor is 137 pto horse so is bound to.

The front assist is also as good as they come.~brad

I love the Whites, if they were painted green and yellow they would have put Deere right out of business.

Got that right. I traded a 40 series Deere even money for mine. I definately traded UP.

I've got an 82 series III. I really can't find any fault with it,unless it's fuel consumption. But it's a pretty large tractor,so you have to expect it. Neighbor has a 4430 Deere and says his uses about the same,so not just a White problem.

Does the 2-135 have dual pto if so is it a separate shaft?
