Yes i did. Bought it today from a real friendly guy who has a ton of them restored!!! Rear tires are almost new and the fronts may or may not need to be replaced. Perfect sheet metal and rock solid. Comes with a ton of parts and a handshake, all for $450 cash. Should be delivered tomorrow!! Goes to show, always ask something if you want to. Saw an add on the photo adds, and saw it was from Brookville. I went out on a limb and asked if he happened to have anything, and he said yes. Road through 10 degree temps this morning to school (3 to 4 miles) then about 3 miles or so i think to his place, a mile to my friend's house and hitched a ride with them.

It does need a new rim, a carb and a mag, and a few minor things like a water temprature gauge off the top of my head... Gee, 48 hours ago i had only once heard of a B and had never seen one. Life is good, thanks Kyle!!

Good for you.

My father-in-law is selling his AC-B also and has parts. E-mail me and I can send you some pictures of what he has. I know there are some lights and electrical parts. Dist. Point kit etc. But cannot fully remember what.

Where are you located? Brookville, IN? perhaps.

Jeff

Something must be in the air. I see alot of folks picking up AC model B's lately. It was my first old tractor and I used the heck outta it. It did me really well until I bought an '04 New Holland. I sold the little B and have regretted it since about a month afterwards and ever since!

I was thinking about a smaller tractor, like a farmall C or the like and then found something complete, near home, and about the same size so i jumped on it.

First of congradulations. Secondly these guys are saying how much fun it is but be prepared to bust knuckles and let the four letter words fly. Go slow and take a ton of pictures. Also I wouldnt sand it you can get it sand blasted for around 200 and then prime and paint. Much faster and better quality than wire wheeling. btdt Getting it running the way you want and then start working on the looks. Expect I picture tomorrow.

Way to go Lanse! You have a good little fixer-upper and you have met a new friend. I expect lots of pictures and questions, don't let me down. Chris
PS DO NOT WRAP YOUR HAND AROUND THE CRANK!!!!! !! Keep your thumb next to your index finger and just pull 1/4 turn at a time. Never try to spin motor with a crank! If everything is set right, it will start without spinning it over. If it should backfire, you WILL break your arm. Be careful and have fun. Chris

Way to go, Lanse. I've been following your tribulations, and I'm so happy to see you finally land a tractor. You'll love that B by the time it's all over.

The rim and the mag will both be expensive.

I have access to a parts Model C if you need anything small. Just let me know.

Congratulations Lanse!!!! :D :D :D
I am very happy for you.

Be careful starting it. There are a lot of good posts here on how to safely hand crank it.

I'm looking forward to seeing pictures.

That's pretty cool, got it for what you wanted to spend, ever since I remember your thread about a $450 tractor, I've probably made a mental note of every one I saw that was under $1000, that looked like it might be worth fooling with, I do tend to read the ads when time permits, especially the local and more obscure ones, kind of a stress relief sometimes, from what I've seen it's a good habit from some of the things I've found or have seen in them. Best of luck !

Lanse, does it have starter?..early ones were hand crank only. I might find a mag if you can't find one reasonable. By the way,, I had hauled mine in a stock trailer once. I think you may have one of them.

Post pics we want to see. Are you going to retire the Kubota now? :D You ought to be in the South. Anything that doesn't say John Deere goes cheap. I have retired or nearly retired neighbors that I want their equipment. May just break down and buy some of their stuff. Eyeing a neighbors Massey Ferguson 3545 and Farmall M. Want Massey for heavy tillage and spraying with that cab, and the M to cultivate. Hope you have fun!!!
