A Steiger two-wheel-drive?

Hello, folks! Snowing like crazy here today...and cold! Hope you all are getting through it. I was wondering last night: did Steiger ever consider a two-wheel-drive, row-crop line of tractors? I always liked the Series III Steigers. I wonder what a 2WD version of a Bearcat or Wildcat would look like? Keep the Series III cab, the Steiger rear axle, the Fuller transmission, a Cat/Cummins/Detroit engine, and...of course...the green paint! Build a plate-steel frame, and use a Rockwell front axle. I think that would be a nifty tractor! The downside would be the lack of a "live" PTO. Could even give it a cool name. What do you fellers think? Have a great evening!

" The two 2wd Steigers were cut up for scrap."

What a waste. They should have sent them over to Bonanzaville to be with the number 1 Steiger tractor.

I just like the fact that they used these tractors to rattle Deere's cage for awhile!
I agree, though - it's a shame they scrapped them out.
