Thanks for all the help guys. Took most of the morning, but I managed to change the nozzle and filter and we have heat going since about 1:00 this afternoon. It was not obvious to me how to flip the control transformer to get to the nozzle and igniter assembly, but after an AHA moment the rest of the job was pretty trivial.

Wife is happy for the heat.

Thanks Again,

Kirk

Good time to think about some alternate method of heat.I have a wood burning stove in kitchen and living room.No electricity for 8 days in 1998.I have a generator ready to run the furnace and keep the freezer going.Oil is running 3.20 here, have heard of 3.84 in places. Many people dont have over 300.00 to buy 100 gallon minimum fuel oil.I keep 5 gallons of fuel oil on hand just in case.Watch the tank gauge like a hawk, shut it down before it runs out.A lot of people are buying oil 5 gallons at a time here. Some are broke and cant afford oil at all.My regular dealers truck broke down last spring, lost the differential.Had a hard time buying oil from other dealers.Watch out for this....

You may think about picking up a spare or two of the show stoppers and keep them where you can find them. You may need them in a month or 10 years so, if possible, vacuum pack them or put them in a jar with some rice or something to suck up moisture. Gotta love them AHA moments. Glad you got it.

Yep $1.50 for a filter and $7.00 for the nozzle. Pretty cheap insurance.

Thanks Again,

Kirk
