Can anyone advise me, I’m looking at a New Holland L555 loader & I know nothing about them.

It is a L555 with a Kubota 40hp engine which is newly rebuilt. Hours are 5500 and pumps have been replaced.

Any thing would be helpful.

Thanks Charlie

The biggest problem with New Holland loaders, at least the older ones, is that you sit way down in the machine and can't see what your bucket cutting edge is doing. Dave

Pull the hydraulic filters and check pleated paper for metallic particles...Chainbox is reservoir for hydraulics and hydrostatics..This is the leading cause for above failures..New Holland got a bad rap because of this..Many 555 and 785 machines didn't last 2,000 hours without major failures when used in the construction / septic industry..Most had tracks on them and most were run like they were stolen..It's commonly called " Rode hard and put away wet"..
I sold many New Holland machines in the early 90's..Back then , they were the most comfortable machine to run..Balance was excellent..When steering empty the rear wheels would dig in and the front wheels would slide on the ground..When loaded the front wheels would dig in and the rears would slide..This made for a more controlled turn with less "bucking"..These machines were used where a crawler loader should have been used..Thats my story and I'm stickin' to it...
