I dont know guys! I used to have a fantastic memory. Now ,if I dont make myself a list of things that have to get done each day I am LOST. And I carry this list with me and when im done I cross it off. Is it getting old or just overwhelmed, its really kinda scarry. I hope Im not in a nut home in 3 years licking the windows. But anyway it would make me feel alot better knowing Im not alone.

Ok...Post to YT Fourm....Check.

It was the amount of money you owed me. You did forget to put the "G" after the 10 though.

The problem is you're getting to the age that your brain is full up with old memories. You're just going have to empty some out to make room for the new memories.

Sorry, I don't remember how to do that empty out thing but people have been telling me for as long as I can remember that I am empty headed and frankly I can't remember any memory that I don't remember so it must work. Hope this helps.

Joe

When I was working public work I always carried a pocket calander. Couldnt live without the notes I had on it. Now, I got a big Caterpillar wall calander, keep all my notes on it for what happens when and a legal pad by my 'puter chair to make my lists on.

Yeah. My memory all went away all at once. I lost my first girlfriend and have been approaching amnesiac status for the last 8 years.

Then 6 months ago she came back--uhoh.

You're not alone. The top pocket in my bibs is full of scraps of paper. Everything from wifes cell number to what I need at the hardware store. What's rough is when I set here til almost dark, then remember something that I needed to do outside.

You won't be licking the glass anytime soon. I think it's a basic organizational habit that is a helpful tool to stay focused and not leave out or forget time sensitive things. I'm constantly writing things down, taking notes and making simple lists on a steno sized graph paper notepad. Talk about lost, one day last summer, whil'st picking lumber at lowes, I put the pad down, forgot where, went around looking for it, one of th clerks had already picked it up, finally got it back, I'd have found it if they had not picked it up, but it sure put a stop to things, as it was my material list for a job.

I used to always carry a notepad on construction sites, camera too, take photos, and notes, keeping an active list, one of my favorites was an item/action list to keep track of things to be done and who was responsible if it was not me.

I think it's the other way around, you'll be scratching at the glass if you don't keep organized, using a work list or similar.

You aren't. I'll set all week at work thinking up things that I need to do on the weekend or in the evening. I usually have 2 lists, 1 for things that have got to be done and one for when I have some extra time. Both have a rough time for each project so that I can prioritize and squeeze things in (not that it does any good, but it sure looks professional). The thing that always haunts me is that I am so used to doing the day to day stuff that I'll do the morning before work chores, zoom inside and do the 3 S's and jump in the car for the hour trip to work where I worry the whole day if I fed the rabbits or done one of the other chores. That or buying a tool because I don't have it and finding that tool when I get home.
