If someone in a Lowe's store offers you assistance and they don't work there, you may live in Texas ;

If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you may live in Texas ;

If you've had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed a wrong number, you may live in Texas ;

If 'Vacation' means going anywhere south of Dallas for the weekend, you may live in Texas ;

If you measure distance in hours, you may live in Texas ;

If you know several people who have hit a deer more than once, you may live in Texas ;

If you install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both unlocked, you may live in Texas ;

If you carry jumper cables in your car and your wife knows how to use them, you may live in Texas ;

If the speed limit on the highway is 55 mph -- you're going 80 and everybody's passing you, you may live in Texas ;

If you find 60 degrees 'a little chilly,' you may live in Texas ;

If you actually understand these jokes, and share them with all your Texas friends, you definitely live in Texas .

Wheee!
When did you have time to come up with all this?
How about being inclusive “Texarkana.”
and let's not forget the women: Alice, Linn, LaSara, Donna, Elsa, Rachael, Victoria, Santa Monica, Santa Rosa, Port Isabel. I’m sure there are others, but these are right here in south Texas.
BTW, which town do you live in? I live in Edinburg. (without the "h")

Another handy Texas trivia fact- The least populated county in the US is Loving County, Texas- about 50 hearty soles. County seat of Mentone has about 20 of those 50. If you're following along with your atlas, its just south of the southeast corner of New Mexico.

Stephen Fuller Austin was born in Austinsville, Virginia (Wythe County) The mining town was founded by his father. Dr Pepper was first concocted in Rural Retreat Virginia (Wythe County) and Wade Morrison named it after his employer Dr. Charles Pepper. He later moved to Texas.

Texas was also the only state to have it's own Navy! There were 2 small steam ships and one of them created some havoc on a town in Mexico and took all their gold! Interesting reading on that subject! The old walled town square in San Jacinto still has part of an old Indian arrow as the pointer for the town sundial right above the gate. I am not from Texas but lived there a short time and miss it!

Texas is more a STATE of mind than a state. I do not say that is a bad way.
I like TEXAS - two of my children were born there, and they are PROUD of it!!!!
But Kansas and the home farm and ranch called me home.
Some of our greatest friends are Texans.

Stay PROUD and LOUD !!!!! !!!!! !!!

The Texas flag is the only state flag that may be flown at the same height as the US flag. This is due to Texas being the only country admitted to the union.

Check your right and left.... you'll see I was talking about the us flag, not the TEXAS flag.

If old "Hatchet Face" can look down on the us capitol I think we ought to be flying the TEXAS flag a notch higher.
