220 microwave

O/T. A friend of mine called and asked if I wanted a commerical microwave, all stainless, he says it's 220 volts, anyone ever heard of a 220microwave.

Went and looked at it today, it's 1700 watts, the power cord had no plug on it but the wires were no bigger then a #12 wire, 3 wires, black, white and green, got plug on and is dead. They are going to get rid of it. Thanks for all the info.... Don c

Yep. They had an Amana test model at the resteruant I worked at while in high school. Around 1974.

Most 110 radars are around 750 watts.

This one was like 2500 watts. Thats why it was on 220.

I worked as a maintenance guy for Burger King and all of the microwaves they use are either 220 or 277 volt 2500-3500 watt commercial units. I have about 6 of them sitting up in the warehouse yet.
